SAVINGS DEPOSITS

A savings account is a bank account at a retail bank whose features include the requirements that only a limited number of withdrawals can take place, it does not have cheque facilities and usually do not have a linked debit card facility, it has limited transfer facilities and cannot be overdrawn.

FIXED DEPOSITS

A fixed deposit refers to an investment scheme that banks and non-banking financing companies provide. FDs offer greater returns on the principal invested when compared to the returns generated from a regular savings account.

RECURRING DEPOSITS

A recurring deposit is a special kind of term deposit offered by banks which help people with regular incomes to deposit a fixed amount every month into their recurring deposit account and earn interest at the rate applicable to fixed deposits.

PIGMY DEPOSITS

Money can be deposited into an account on daily basis. The amount may be as small as Rupees five. The unique characteristic of this scheme is that a bank agent collects the money daily, from the account holder's doorstep.
